Sick piano

The drums sound a bit awkward to me, (I think they are kind of distracting when it is just the paino and the hi-hat). But that may just be me.

Mrkapow responds:

Okey Doke! I'll get to experimenting with some more different drum sounds then! Thanks for the comment!!

Nice Shape

It doesn't feel repetitive to me, the thing has shape dynamically, which makes it feel like it is going somewhere... Well you know opinions differ, but I don't feel it feels repetitive, it builds up nicely and then comes back down, which is something you really don't see too often anymore, people are obsessed with making things constantly epic, I mean epic is good, but it has to have shape, for the dynamics alone I'd have probably given a 10, but I like the writing too, so you didn't just get a freebee from me.

Really nice work

Maybe I listen to way to much Kamelot but I can totally hear some guitar and drums going here...
oh and what's with people giving an entirely positive review and then rating the thing a 9... I'll never understand that, sure it's not fucking John Williams, but hell you earned a 10.

CreamingStar responds:

Guitar and drums? I'll have to ruminate on that one. Just so I can get a better picture, what kind of drums do you mean?

Thank you

this is amazing, I wish I could write a longer review but I've got nothing to say. Simply amazing.

You are a Newgrounds Legend

Seriously, you never fail to make amazing songs.

NemesisTheory responds:

Thanks! That really means a lot. <3

I'll try to be quick

Since I know you said don't rag too hard on the vocals so I will make this quick, do yourself a favor and find yourself a singer. Also not a big fan of the vocal melody. The instrumentals on the other hand sound great and the only thing I am missing there is a solo, in my opinion with very few exceptions a great solo is what makes a metal song great.

Ryan-of-the-Metal responds:

You know what? You're probably completely right, my vocals are fairly sub-par, and so is my singing too. And thank you about your honest opinion about my instruments, I appreciate it immensely, you're like the first person to review one of my songs in like forever. O_o

If I also may mention something, I was actually planning on placing this in the 'Pop' section, since it's not really metal enough lol due to t he lack of soloing, but I don't think everyone would so much appreciate that.

But I like that change, thanks mucho, if you need reviewing, message me pronto.

Good loop

As was said below, I wouldn't be listening to it as a song or anything, but that being said it is actually a pretty interesting loop, there are multiple sections to the song and they all sound pretty good, this sets it apart from other loops where the lack of variation makes you lose interest near immediatly. The other thing I really like about this song is the fact that the drum track actually changes, way too many people just leave a drum track on the same thing the entire time, which to me always ruins the song, nice loop anyhow keep making them.

Really quite nice

I have a few complaints, though to warn you this is not a style of music I tend to be a fan of so my advice might not necessarily be advice that you want to take since I am not an expert. But one the song was long enough I wish there was some build up. Second I am not a huge fan of the drum track, two main reasons, one is that I don't like the clap sound, I would much rather hear a snare, but I tend to listen to music with real drummers, second I wish there was variation in the drum track, it'd help the music build and make the part less boring, this could also be due to a bais towards a real drummer. I like the rest though so overall good work.

stackz989 responds:

Thanks for your review. You did give alot of info. there. I really appreciate it. Everything you said is completely clear - I should have added more variation onto this music track but, simply just kept it the way it was and posted it up as an audio submission on NEWGROUNDS. I do also like your idea of adding a snare instead of a clap and having real drum sounds. Thanks alot, yet again for your review. I'll keep the words of the reviewers like "you" in mind.

This was great

And I am usually not a very big trance fan, so really nice work.

ThunderBeats responds:

thanks :)

Wish there was a solo

Don't get me wrong great groove, and the thing with the strings was pretty sweet, but to me a solo is always what sets a song like this out, would be nice to hear you let loose and shred a little.
